Amanda Plecha, L.Ac. M.Ac.
Amanda Plecha graduated from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) with a Master’s of Acupuncture degree based in Constitutional Five Element Theory and Eight Principles. Since the summer of 2012, she began an apprenticeship with Ted Annenberg, who has been practicing Japanese-style acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine for over 35 years. Her approach to treatment is informed by careful palpation of diagnostically significant zones on the body to determine the root cause of disease and consistently relieving tension in these vital areas.
During the summer of 2013, Amanda studied shiatsu therapy with Hazel Chung, master practitioner and instructor of Ohashiatsu Maryland. In addition, she has acquired an experiential understanding of movement biomechanics by way of her many years performing as a dancer in the Dance Dimension, Johns Hopkins Modern Dance Company, Baltimore Dance Project, and training with the Nikolais-Louis Dance Company.
