In the acupuncture practice of integrative Healing Arts, diagnosis and treatment occur simultaneously. I evaluate the chief complaint, adjacent areas and affected channels, as well as palpate principle diagnostic zones of the neck, abdomen and back.
Effective treatment requires forming a plan that results in an immediate release of the tension or pain found at the diagnostically significant areas. The result is a profound shift towards homeostasis, followed by a reduction or elimination of complex chronic pain, disease and dysfunction.

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese bodywork based on the theoretical framework of traditional Chinese medicine. Shiatsu technique includes hand, palm, elbow and knee pressure; assisted stretching; joint manipulation and mobilization.
Relief from, or the elimination of pain and symptoms may be immediate or occur in the days following the session, or over the course of a few treatments. Wear loose-fitted clothing and socks during the session. Shiatsu is performed clothed. Tight fitting garments, which restrict your range of motion may limit the effectiveness of certain aspects of treatment.
